The Us Virgin Islands consist of the well-known tourist destinations of the islands of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. St. Thomas is known as the shopping paradise of all the Caribbean islands and plays hosts to many crowds of tourists. St. Croix is quieter than St, Thomas, but boasts that it has the most stores. St. John is the least developed, but it does have two hotels. Most of this island is a US National Park. While St. John is in the Atlantic Ocean, both St, Thomas and St. Croix are in the Caribbean

St. Thomas Island Attractions

City of Charlotte Amalie

The wide range of attractions on St. Thomas alone is astounding. You can spend your whole vacation here and not get to see everything. The capital, Charlotte Amalie, is one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean. Here you can visit such places as Fort Christian, the Seven Arches Museum and the Synagogue of Beracha Veshalom Vegmiluth Hasidim. In Frenchtown, you can stop at the Coral World Marine Park and Underwater Observatory and visit the Estate St. Peter Greathouse Botanical Gardens.

St. Croix Island Attractions

Christianstead, on St. Croix, has Fort Christianvaern, the Steeple Building and you can take a trail into the past by following the St. Croix Heritage Trail to help you learn of the Danish history of the island. At Frederiksted, you can visit Fort Frederick, the history museum and the Customs House. Buck Island offers hiking trails, but you should be careful not to touch the plants because some of them are poisonous.

Visit the Virgin Island National Park on St. John and see Fort Berg and the ruins of the Annaberg Ruins. You can also walk back into history along the Annaberg Historic Trail

Scuba diving is at its best here in the US Virgin Islands. At Buck Island there are snorkelling trails to follow under the water and there is a labyrinth for divers. All three islands have dive centers and excursions to take you to the best locations. Take a helicopter ride over St. Thomas, tee off on the best courses on St. Croix, go horseback riding, kayaking and hiking.

Of course, you can?t forget the exquisite beaches with the many types of watersports offered from the beach. Take a sail, try windsurfing, parasailing or swimming. You certainly won?t find time to be bored.

US Virgin Islands Accommodations and Dining

Even on these sophisticated islands you will find inexpensive accommodations. The Breakfast Club on St, Croix, the Galleon House on St. Thomas or the St. John Inn, on St John, will provide you with wonderful delights for a wonderful vacation. There are also the usual range of very expensive resorts, but then the amenities you receive are also very elaborate.

Dining also falls in the same price ranges. Make reservations at Asalore on St. John where you can try the squid and shrimp medley as an appetizer. Bacchus, on St. Croix, takes its name from the god of wine and the rib-eye steak served here is delicious. There are also many inexpensive restaurants where you can wear your beach clothes and just show up for dinner.

Shopping and Nightlife in US virgin Islands

One could write a whole book about shopping in the US Virgin Islands. There is such a plethora of stores that it is impossible to even start naming them. From the fashions of Paris to the Dollar Tree, St. Croix and St. Thomas have them all.

For a night of entertainment, the selection is vast. Depending on what type of music you like and the setting you want to enjoy, you can choose the music of a steel band or listen to a DJ.
